The construction of Polat Tower Residence in Fulya and a hotel of 220 rooms in Erzurum are nearly completed.

- Where is Polat Construction Co. in real estate market?
- POLAT: Polat is out of the real estate market of Istanbul. Because, it has made its own market with its construction quality and position. It carries on its marketing with its specific customers.

- 1999 was a bad year for the construction sector, how was this affected you? Your general comments about the earthquake and the law of construction control...
- POLAT: The year of 1999 had no effects on Polat Construction. The constructions and sales kept going on. There were no problems about the earthquake. Polat Construction makes drilling and ground investigations on the lands before starting to make a construction, and constitutes static and reinforced concrete projects due to the results. Every construction was made with a resistance against the earthquake. The law of construction control will not be a burden to Polat Insaat. To apply this law for every construction will cause an obligation to make constructions that have resistance against the earthquake.

- What are your expectations from 2001?
- POLAT: The year 2001 will not stop Polat Tower’s progress. Besides Polat Tower Residence, construction of a housing development will start in Ulus. Also we are planning to make another housing development consisting 1000 villas.
